Loving Kindness Metta Meditation
This Loving Kindness Meditation, also known as "Metta Meditation" is rooted in Buddhist tradition and originated in ancient India. The term "metta" comes from the Pali language, where "meta" means "mind" and "tta" means "heart", "love" or "kindness". Metta meditation is a mindfulness practice that cultivates feelings of loving-kindness, compassion and an understanding towards oneself and others. It's primary intention is to train the mind to respond to life's challenges with kindness, tolerance and acceptance, rather than anger, resentment or frustration. I would like to offer a gentle reminder that this is a practice, and you may or may not resonate with feelings of loving kindness straight away, and that is okay.
