Yoga Nidra | A Guided Journey Through the Five Koshas

Welcome to this Yoga Nidra practice, where we will gently journey through the Five Koshas, the ancient yogic model describing the five layers or “sheaths” that make up our human experience.

Originating in Indian philosophy, the Koshas provide a beautiful framework to explore and understand ourselves on multiple levels, from the physical body to the deepest sense of joy and bliss.

During this practice, you will be guided to connect with each Kosha in turn:

  1. Annamaya Kosha - The Physical Sheath, our tangible body

  2. Pranamaya Kosha - The Vital Energy Sheath, the breath and life force

  3. Manomaya Kosha - The Mental Sheath, thoughts and emotions

  4. Vijnanamaya Kosha - The Wisdom Sheath, intuition and insight

  5. Anandamaya Kosha - The Bliss Sheath, the core of our joy and peace

Allow yourself to relax fully as we explore these layers, nurturing a deeper connection to your whole self - body, mind, and spirit.

  • Please note if you are over 30 weeks pregnant, when practicing yoga nidra it is advised that you lie on your left side, supporting your head and knees with cushions or a bolster.
